If you are new to the world of CCAR Recovery Coach training, we advise that you start with the Recovery Coaching Basics course. this is a one day course. You will be provided with a CCAR training manual, given access to our Portal and the session is taken live over Zoom.

The Recovery Coaching Basics course gives you an introduction to Recovery Coaching and the world of Recovery. This training aims to give you an understanding of how you can support and advocate for those in Recovery around you.


CCAR© Recovery Coach Academy

The Recovery Coach Academy is our flagship CCAR course. It's a 5 day intensive course aimed at exploring your understanding of Recovery, the skills needed to support those in Recovery, while delving deeper into the many dimensions of Recovery.


This course includes a CCAR training manual for the course, 5 days of intensive training, access to the learning Portal and so much more. It's the only CCAR approved and CPD certified Recovery Training in the UK.

Multiple Course Dates

The Recovery Coach Professional is the ultimate pathway for you to take your Recovery Coaching skills to the next level. To achieve RCP status you must achieve 70 CEU's, of which the following are mandatory:


30 CEU's- CCAR Recovery Coach Academy Course 16 CEU's- Ethical Considerations for Recovery Coaches.


The remaining 24 hours of training required can be taken from the following:

12 CEU's- Recovery Coaching and Professionalism

CCAR© Ethical Considerations for Recovery Coaches

Please note this course is mandatory if you wish to complete your RCP designation.

Training Ethics for ​Recovery Coaches differs from those for clinicians due to their unique role in guiding someone through their recovery process.

This training aims to give you a deeper understanding of Ethics in the Recovery process, in your role as a Recovery Coach and how to develop guidelines to apply ethics in your practise.

CCAR© Spirituality for Recovery Coaches

4th and 5th May 13:00-17:15 BST

Training Spirituality for ​Recovery Coaches is not only a deeply personal subject, it is often a large component of people's recovery.


This training aims to give you a deeper understanding of Spirituality, giving you the tools and resources to approach spirituality in a way that's inclusive.


CCAR© Professionalism and Recovery Coaching

7th and 8th June 13:00-17:15 BST

As Recovery Coaching gains traction in the UK and further afield, we are seeing a greater demand for Recovery Coaches to enter into professional settings, such as hospitals, treatment facilities, and course systems This training aims to give you the skills to navigate professional settings, as well as developing personal accountability and boundaries in your Recovery practise.

We have compiled a informative PDF with more information about Recovery Coaching, who it's for, the Recovery Coaching Pathway and a little about our organisation.

The RCP© Designation is available to ALL - people in recovery, families, friends and allies. 

The RCP© Designation will be awarded to successful candidates that demonstrate the art and science of coaching recovery through the following:

1.      Training: Applicants must complete the CCAR Recovery Coach Academy© and the CCAR Ethical Considerations for Recovery Coaches©, and in addition, 2 more CCAR approved training programs.  We recommend CCAR Recovery Coaching and Professionalism and CCAR Spirituality for Recovery Coaches.

2.     Experience: In the application, the candidates will describe their addiction recovery experience through a resume and/or a written summary.

3.     Interview: Candidates will have an interview with a panel comprised of CCAR leadership and RCPs. May be in person or online.
